Our Story

Laura Lee and Jacob met in the spring of 2015 in an 8am string techniques class at The University of Texas. They were both assigned to play the violin, and when Laura tried to sit in the back (because according to her, she was not very good at the violin), Jacob would guilt her into sitting next to him in the front row. A friendship blossomed that would eventually turn into a first date on October 1st at Lady Bird Lake.

In the last 9 years Jacob and Laura have lived in 5 States, rescued 4 cats, earned 3 advanced degrees, connected 2 families, and formed 1 unshakable bond. Most importantly, they supported each other along the way.

On July 29th, 2024, Laura and Jacob decided to make it forever at the waterfront of Riva Ca’ di Dio in Venice. Jacob proposed with a ring he (nervously) carried around Europe for nearly a month.

We are so excited to celebrate Laura and Jacob’s wedding on October 4, 2025, 10 years to the month of their first date in Austin!
